So as many of you know I drive an '76 BMW 2002 as a daily. Well the ball joints and the rest of the suspension bushings are all original so I decided to replace em all. GREAT idea until you have to do it... Started this on Monday, spend 6 hours on it and get it apart. 3 broken bolts later and a run into town cause none of my car friends have a shop press to push out old bushings I get to the point I need to remove a ball joint. The nut is in a cuped area, that area is filled with rust. 4 Hours total to get one ball joint out. I had to use a chisel, dremel, impact wrench, air hammer, propane torch, hammer, sawzall and some deep sockets to get that MOFO out! Now I'm drilling out the last of the 3 broken bolts and in the middle of the bolt it's rock solid and my drill wont drill it out (3 broken bits and a broken tap later)... Some days I despise doing all my own work. So now I need to finish one side tomorrow and then start waiting for my new "safety" bolts to come in from Germany. The things I do for my beloved car! I'm going to bed now and I'll update y'all tomorrow and add a picture of my seriously F'd ball joint nut.
