NFL team to sneak in the playoffs
So in 2010 Kansas City Chiefs Snuck into the playoffs with a divisional championship beating out a good late coming chargers team..
2011 might have the same out look...
Who do you guys think in the 2011 NFL season shock the nation and sneak into the playoffs.
I'm picking the Washington Redskins to out the Eagles so called "dream team"
Seems like if you get cocky call your selves the team to beat this season your asking for trouble... Redskins definately will be a huge challege against the eagles..
Redskins have 2 awesome QB's who can lead a team..rest of the team will be just that damn good thanks to coach Shanahan... Dever broncos already shaking their head because they rid of him and now they can't even get into the playoffs
any other suggestions?

Re: NFL team to sneak in the playoffs
The rams were already my pick to win their divison. And I wouldnt be surprised if the Lions make it as a wildcard team. For the NFC i think the Division winners are going to be Eagles, Packers, Falcons, Rams. Wildcards go to Lions and Bucs. The AFC is going to be more of the same, except in the South. Division winners are Patriots, Texans, Steelers, Chargers. Wildcards go to Colts, Jets.

In terms of winning their division, the St. Louis Rams are the only ones I have as a sleeper pick (so to speak). Even with Kolb added, I'm not sold on the Cardinals at all, and San Fran/Seattle don't excite me, so I could see the Rams pulling it off, it'd be close though. Plus St. Louis will have the benefit of
video tapesgood offensive coaching...
Detroit would be up there for me, but I don't think they are quite there yet to beat the Packers, I could see Detroit sneaking a wildcard if Stafford can stay healthy.
By division I'd have:
NFC
East Philly
West Rams
North Green Bay
South Saints
AFC
East Jets
West Chargers
North Pittsburgh
South Houston
Wildcards I'm not sure, Dallas should have at least 8 wins, and maybe could grab 10ish and get in. I like Detroit as a wildcard possibility, same with Tampa Bay. I'll go with Dallas and....Arizona (going against my Detroit idea earlier but meh). I have both with 8 games I'd put money on them winning, while I had Tampa and Detroit at 5. Now I do think Tampa or Detroit are better then the Cardinals, but they drew the short straw.
On the AFC side, I'd take New England as a wildcard, and the other one I'll go outside the box and take Baltimore.Last edited by Red_Lizard2; 09-08-11 at 01:00 AM.

Might wanna take the Colts outta your wildcard spot Duddy. Manning's out week one, and the reports are he may need a 2nd surgery on his neck so he could miss a rather large part of the season. I don't see the Colts makin the playoffs with Kerry Collins or Curtis Painter at QB for an extended period of time. That team is built around and runs through Manning, and neither of their other QBs are anywhere close to being the same type of QB.

If Stafford stays healthy Detroit actually has a chance of beating GB. SB hangovers are real. Every team will give the SB winner their best. My darkhorse is Detroit to win their Division and GB to be the wildcard. Detroit is built to beat GB...their D-line is sick and can get quick pressure without blitzing. That leaves the other 8 guys to cover. If PM18 sits this season out the Colts may be running in the Suck for Luck contest.
Division wnners:
AFC
Steelers
Patriots
Houston(if Peyton sits, Indy if not)
Kansas City.
Wild Card
NYJ
San Diego
NFC
Detroit(if Stafford stays healthy)
New Orleans
NYG
St. Louis
Wild Card
Green Bay
Philly
I think Baltimore will just miss out on the playoffs this year. I think they will lose at least 3 times in Division. Once to each team. They could easily lose twice to Pittsburgh - they haven't beaten a Ben Roethlisberger lead Steelers. They lost a whole lot of good players this year and I'm not convinced their replacements can step up.
Sam Bradford is the real deal. St. Louis will be crowned King Rat of the NFC Cellar.
Detroit has been inches away from alot of wins of the past two years. I think they put it together this year. Expect them to have a top 5 defense.
The Chargers are notorious for slow starts to a season. I expect that to continue. They will not be true contenders while Norv Turner is coaching there.
Peyton Manning IS the Indianapolis Colts. If he sits they sink.
Philly is overrated. Mike Vick will show his true colors this year. They will make the playoffs simpy because they have too much talent not to. I expect them to go one and done.
While I like Tampa as a team I really think their record last year was largely because of a very easy schedule. Josh Freeman plays like Ben Roethlisberger, so I won't count them out but I don't expect them to equal last year.Last edited by iLLusioN; 09-08-11 at 10:54 AM.
