    Romo's injury.

Romo got hurt first half of the game left the game with a broken rib and a puncture lung came back end to the beginning of the third quarter and played ball like it never even happen.. It crazy he risked his entire career just to redeem himself after the flop he made first week...

I've never seen a quarter back comeback with that kind of pain and still play like a champ...

Me being a redskins fan I still think thats incredible.. It shows to me romo still can play ball pain or none .. Look like these cowgirls aren't no slouches when it comes to redemption

What I found striking about the story of Romo coming back to play is that it casts a new light on Cutler deciding to not play after the half in the playoffs with his sprained knee. Every breath Romo took was painful, and with a punctured lung he was probably having trouble getting enough air from those breaths, but he still came back and played. Romo certainly SHOULDN'T have come back, because what he did was crazy and stupid, but the fact that he came back and played with a punctured lung for the 2nd game of the regular season, while Cutler chose not to come back during the NFC Championship with a sprained ligament really makes you wonder.

I've had a sprained MCL in my right knee (right hander) and throwing a football with a real bad sprain is almost impossible. Because since the MCL is so loose from the sprain it can no longer give your knee any balance so when you go to push off your back leg to throw, the knee will actually buckle due to the ligament being stretch. Then that sprained MCL cause me to tear my ACL in the knee. My exp from the MCL came from playing football with friends in a 11v11 for thanksgiving and we are 24-29 years old. I was able to throw 40-50 yards down the field and after I got hit on a run that stretched my MCL I wasn't able to throw directly to a person anywhere near 10 yards without the knee buckling and falling down in breif pain (yea i tried to continue to play with a sprained MCL and it was a no go). Also moving laterally is almost impossible also b/c the ligament isn't tight nor able to keep the knee balance while moving, if you tried to run your ass is on the grass. With all this said, if Cutler did have a bad sprained MCL I can understand why he choose to not go in b/c it would have set his back another 6-9 months before he played football again if he would got hit and bend in a bad way.

I can understand why he chose to stay out, but it doesn't look good for him when he chooses not to go back with a sprained knee and then someone with a punctured lung goes back in. It just looks like Romo loves the game more, because he went back in with a more serious injury. Not to mention that Shawn Merriman a few years back, played a whole game with 2 torn ligaments, so it's possible to do so, even if you're not at your peak. Yeah in retrospect that was probably a poor decision, but football is an ironman sport and when it comes to the championship games, it's expected that you continue to play if at all possible.
