Fitness Thread
Well, since this is the forums where we talk about our lives outside of the gaming world I thought I'd add this Fitness/Gym/Powerlifter/Bodybuilder/Weightlifter thread for anyone who is interested in talking about workout routines, diets, the frustrations of an athletic lifestyle, etc.
It's a strange combination at first but if you guys are into training at all you'll notice that gaming and gym goes hand in hand! =)
And I really encourage all the members of TPG to reflect on their lifestyle and just make sure you're being the healthiest you can with available resources! We all want to live long gamer lives in the TPG community!!
Edit: I understand this could be posted in the Sports Talk section but I feel like this has to do more with lifestyle than sport.

Re: Fitness Thread
And if anyone has any questions about what to eat, supplements or workout routines I'm happy to give my .02cents and I'm sure any other members involved with fitness would be too. I am by no means a medical expert haha but I'll be glad to pour out all the information I've learned throughout my time training working at supplement stores and gyms.

Re: Fitness Thread
I'm currently doing weight lifting, cardio, and dieting. I've been using this site called fitocracy.com that has been helping me stay on target and motivate me to push up my numbers. The idea behind fitocracy is that it's like a mmorpg for fitness. You enter in your workout and you gain experience points, which in turn earns levels. There are also various quests you can complete for more points.
If anyone would like to try it out I can send you an invite.

Re: Fitness Thread
Wow that sounds interesting! I've never had a problem with motivation but I feel like that would add another level of fun to training and sounds like a decent way to log your daily activities?
Right now I just have a folder of what I've eaten and done each day so that at the end of the year I can go over when I was feeling my best and lifting my heaviest and possibly find out which foods or activities lead to that... If this site offers that same type of journal then I'm interested =D

Re: Fitness Thread
Awesome!! I check out bodybuilding.com.
This is a routine that I compiled for my workout:
1- Stretching my muscles.
2- Back stretching (exersices).
3- Treadmill for 20 to 30 minutes, walk and speed walk.
4- Abs, Glutes, Squats.
5- Weight training: One exercise for each muscles: Traps, Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps, Lats. 1 set of 15-20 reps (for 2 weeks). Then 2 sets of 15-20 reps.
PS: I sometimes warm up with 10 minutes treadmill and then do the workout and finish of 20 minutes of treadmill.
I after take a protein shake with a banana and frozen blueberries. =)
BUT..... I have motivation problems. HAHA!!Last edited by Coyote Warlady; 09-24-11 at 04:30 PM.

Re: Fitness Thread
That's awesome! I'm not the best when it comes to women's training in terms of how much rest between exercises you should have and such since I'm aware most women don't want to accumulate a large amount of muscle mass but I'm so happy you do squats! I really think every girl should incorporate that into their workout. =)
For motivation it's always nice to start off with a group of friends that force you to go on those days you don't want to, that way it's a social thing... Then later once you've noticed what training can do I feel like you naturally fall in love (or are addicted to the endorphin rush! =P)
I started off with sports like most guys and then about ten other friends and I kept training together (obviously to impress girls =P and also to continue competing against each other I'd add). I just really started to love working out and continued on as my friends lost interest. So this'll be my fourth year of consistent training and showing no signs of stopping! =P
