OK well its time to get my camaro back on the road. The reason shes down is i was stupid enough to loan her to a relative. That being said i need to rebuilt the manual trans in it. Right now it has the following ratios.

1-2.66
2-1.78
3-1.30
4-1.00
5-.74
6-.5
axle 3.42

Shes gear exactly the same as a z06 and with the add ons ive done can keep up with them. Now normally that would be fine but i figure if your going to bust it open why not put it back together to keep up with the zl1's. That means changing 5th and 6th to .80 and .62 along with a few more add ons.

Heres the problem. From what i know of these tranny's they come apart around 450 hp which im pretty close to as it is if not just a bit past it on cold days. She dynod at 410 inside a shop with no ac, no fans, and a bit over 100 degrees and that was before i did a few small mods.

Seeing as i haven't built a tranny since high school it could be an adventure to begin with but am i putting to much strain on the internals? Should i start looking for after market main shafts and such? or do you think she can take it? Any thought would be helpfull because as i said i haven't built one in a long time. Plenty of modifying but we all know its not the same.
