    My cousins have a compound there in Colorado, and they love it! Good schools and a great place to raise a family.

    I lived in Breckenridge / Frisco for a few years and worked the resorts. Love the Dillon dam brewery. Microbrews are amazing.

    lol probably not what you were thinking of but have you thought of Arizona? it's not all desert. I live in Flagstaff (very libertarian/liberal, university city, all 4 seasons, 7000ft, 30minutes from sedona redrocks, close to grand canyon, 1.5 hours from Phoenix)

    Population 70,000 right smack dab in the middle of THE SINGLE largest ponderosa pine forest in the world and at the base of the san Fransisco peaks (which, prior to eruption, was taller than mount Everest) and Pluto was discovered here (clearest sky and freshest air in the Country save for probably Alaska)

    summers get up to maybe mid 90s, right now low 70s/high60s, winters get down a bit below 0.

    It used to be Really warm all year round here. But the whole global warming shindig has got us gettin colder with more snow, Heck this summer we found out what the hell is up with Humidity.
