Any drummers here?
If so, Ive been drumming for 6 years, I did band in highschool for 2 years and did percussion during that time, However i never really played percussion outside highschool by percussion i mean bongos and congos and shit like that, Im interested in buying a pair of bongos to have for late night campfire sessions, but i dont kno what woods are good and or what heads are good for bongos can any other drummers chime in on this and help me out? Im obviously doing my own research as well but as usual its mixed reviews.

Yep, and i learned that very fast when i was playing around with them in the store...I always thought bongos woulda been a good choice but after playing on a Dejembe and the sounds u can get from them are incredible i went with the dejembe. Thanks for turning me onto them haha

I drum, currently a drummer in a hard rock band. Never played the bongos or any hand drums though. (I'm not a hippy and I don't smell like trash and excrement)
