    Any plumbers here?

The house has been retro fitted to pvc and copper piping. Low pressure the issue. I have discovered there are galvanised pipes to the home that have been in place 1957. I haven't check the actual pressure level yet but i know its pretty low.

Seeing as the house has been redone and the lines to it have not and are steel im guessing that mineral deposited have restricted the flow. Do i need a permit to replace the line coming from the meter? I have a 1 in line for a hose in the middle of the yard. Can i cap the steel line and use the hose as the new input line? Its pvc if it matters. Or am i better off crawling under the house and making the attachment there.

My thoughts on a new input are a line is a line. With it being a cold water line i dont see the difference between where the water comes from. Or am i just fucked up on that thought?

I would say fucked up on that thought!
You don't need a permit to change a water line in your yard; the city only cares if you mess with the street side of the meter or the meter itself.
Personally I would use either rigid PVC or copper and make sure you bury it to your house so that it doesn’t get damaged over time.
I want to say don't use a hose of any kind unless you are using Pex pipe which is a great alternative. Pex pipe will expand and contract with the seasons, winter if it freezes it will expand and not break then as it warms up it will come back to its original shape because it has no memory. When I built homes for a living here in Dallas I used it for that very reason as well as the bastard copper thieves had no use for it.
As for having to crawl under the house to connect, plan on getting dirty.
    Good luck!

I haven't had time yet to do anything. I've been trying to get the utilities department to come check the water pressure coming out of the meter before i start digging shit. Then i started getting hit with jobs right and left so i guess i shouldn't complain. Why what you got im all ears?
