Don't feel too bad. I started down in the 2100's and I'm slowly climbing up by grouping up with good players I run into on Solo Que. I'm just over 2300 now.
When I am not playing at night I keep missing the groups from TPG or I completely miss the message from someone asking if I want to join them and don't see it until 6 hours later (sorry Merritt!).

Re: Skill Level
I play about 95% of my games solo, just seems to work out better for me for whatever reason... same thing in LoL when I used to play. I was silver for a super long time always duoing with friends and decided to just solo for a while. Within a few months, I got to diamond. From there on out, group play just seems to suck unfortunately. My goal is Master this season, as long as I can play enough, I am pretty sure I can achieve it. Only 800 more points!

Pretty much my experience. For the love of all that is Overwatch, I cannot get above 2300 and stay there. As soon as I get there I am forced onto teams with trolls and people intentionally throwing matches and back down under 2300. I've had to block and report so many people the last couple of days it is fucking ridiculous. Had a person on a team last night playing Mei on offense and his only response when asked to switch, quite nicely by the entire team, was "FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU! YOU DON'T KNOW ME!". Never once used his ult.
Another team had a premade of 3 and when asked by me and the other 2 teammates what the hell they were doing, they responded they were all drunk and fucking around. They were playing in a way that it was clear they were. They thought it was HILARIOUS to be playing competitive like that.
My goal is to reach Diamond this season.Last edited by DancingCorpse; 09-08-16 at 03:02 AM.

Re: Skill Level
I got 2406.. Won 6/10 games and I basically ranked lower in season two even though I definitely feel like I'm a better player this time around. I checked and I'm basically 1 rank lower than where I started in season 1 (rank 50). My best last season was 58.

I haven't played any ranked yet but that has unfortunately been my experience with counter strike and League of Legends. You can forget about trying to rank up if you play alone with pubbers. Gamers in general are the shittiest useless imbeciles on the planet - the only way I've ever stood a chance of having a decent match was with partying up with purple I know. Solo-ing with randoms is a death sentence. It's unfortunate to hear that this is the situation in overwatch now as I thought the community might be better but it sounds like the community is that way too :/
I don't even touch overwatch if other people aren't online

Re: Skill Level
I mean, I just went on to say that I play solo 95% of the time and have been incredibly successful that way... but I understand where you are coming from.
As for being ranked lower than last season, that will happen. It is a ladder, you are meant to climb back up not just continue from last season. There would be no use in a reset if you just started where you left off. Climb on back up and make the season a good journey.
