What is everyone's initial skill level?

I'll start, 48.

I'm not exactly sure, it's been several days since I played. Something insignificant like between 15-20. I'm hoping I can play more often and start leveling quickly to close the gap with everyone. I think max level difference for competitive is 50 levels right? I'm so far behind

Edit: I guess that is my level, not my skill. I'll post back after doing my placement matches

I'm not sure if it works every match up i was in last night was horrible the worst teams every time

There's a difference between skill level and experience level. Skill level is what you receive after doing your first 10 competitive matches. It is subject to go up and down based on how well you play.

Don't see how its supposed to gauge your skill lvl when it matches you up with teams that get steam rolled

It evens out over the course of 1,000 matches which is about how much data any such system in a team-based game like this needs to get an accurate gauge of an individual's skill. There will be ups and downs but the bad times are remembered more than the good for most people.

Looks like my initial one is 47. Plenty of room to work up!

The 10 placement matches base your initial ranking mostly off of your personal score/performance, not win/loss...my friend lost 8 placements and got 67 ranking, I lost 4 and got 58...also I believe the placement matches starts you with people on your Quick Play MMR so if you screwed around too much you'll start lower

After the 10 placement matches, win/loss decides whether you will lose or gain rank, but I'm pretty sure your performance is taken into account when judging how much rank you gain/lose per win/loss

there's probably a lot more taken into account, for example, one of the competitive teams, C9, rarely gets put against opposing teams of equal MMR since their skill is just so high...so since they fight people lower, they have to play tons of games before their rank goes up.

PS - the super top teams placed at mid 70s, so there's plenty of room in the system for advancement and crazy high skill players

Kinda ticked off, would have thought it would be higher. Kept getting teammates who actively tried to sabotage the team or actively refused to help and I would be getting multiple golds each time.

Competitive rank is different than regular. My regular rank is 100 and comp is 46. I think most of us scored out around the 50 mark.
