GMG, you're a roll model to us all. MAKE IT HAPPEN, even with kiss items. Alas, with my lack of skillz I'm going to pursue the cushy mouse and gell pad for now .

WickedSoN, nice to hear your support of the gel pad. I've got a belkin gel mouse pad at work, which works well for me. But I want "something better/different" for home/play/gaming.


I'm going to sit on it for a couple days (ie: procrastination), but I think I'll be running with vespula pad and the transformers edition of the original model I was looking at (Newegg.com - RAZER DeathAdder - Transformers 3 Collectors Edition - Bumblebee RZ01-00152800-R3U1 Yellow 5 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 3500 dpi Mouse). It's a bit cheaper, and has the transformers logo, which I think is less ugly than the razer logo (subjective). I'll make some more noise when I progress.

Don, I have had/used 3 Razors 1600 dpi and some fancy mouse pad that cost 30$......Unless you are playing for league or pro, you don't need that over priced shit.

Best mouse pad IMO is one you can clean with a rag and hot water to get all that oil,dirt,grime buildup.

What makes any FPS player a better player is CPU/VIDEO CARD/RAM/FAST INTERNET CONNECTION.
That's the only advantage they have over players like me who do not have the funds.

You can use cheap low end shit and still kill Noob players easily like h7noobfag and his bitch gaysnipe.

I run BF3 all low settings with resolution at 800x600.

I've been gaming since 1997...I had the best PC with the highest internet from 2002 to 2009. Was it worth it? Hell fucking NO. save your money. you're not playing and getting paid.

If you got money to burn....Save it.

There are none new good games right now...I'm waiting for Arma 3, a Military Sim game, that might be as good as BF2. If you play BF2..play PR multi-player or Co-op to learn the basics. You'll learn skills in PR you won't learn in BF2.

So I pulled the trigger on the deathadder transformer edition mouse, and the vespula mouse pad earlier this week.

Received the mouse pad last night, and initial impressions were positive. The gel-rest fits the wrist relief I was seeking. It's enough to gently rest my wrist, allow for a variety of positions and angles on my gaming mouse. The mouse surface is hard plastic (not rubber/cloth like other mouse pads i've used), with a "rough/slow" texture and a "smooth/fast" flipside. I'm still trying both, to see which feels/responds better. Alas, with my old mouse, and its slide-pads falling off, it was not as smooth/glidey as I would like. We'll see how it behaves with the deathadder when that arrives.

My deathadder mouse came in yesterday, and I got to test run it for a bit. I must say, I'm not as impressed as I was hoping to... my rating would be 4/5. But it should do for the time being.

Positive points on the mouse:
+ the sliders on this mouse are large and very smooth. I could definitely move the mouse around the surface much quicker/easier than with my old mouse.
+ I forgot how much I enjoyed the transformers :-D. It's nice to have a glowing transformers symbol on the mouse.
+ there are a pile of options (via the driver + extra 4,5 buttons)... more than I typically care for. How are others using the 4,5 buttons (I'm thinking they'll be for cockpit rear/forward view switches)?

Less positive points:
- the mouse is a bit light in weight (I expected more metal, it seems to be all plastic)
- the mouse required the razor drivers to be installed in order for the right-mouse click to function in BF2 (!@#!@% I couldn't give orders to my squad!!!)
- A minor aesthetic niggle, but I expected the "bumblebee" yellow to be a little more brighter/orange.
- I'm not sure if I can perceive a difference in response time between this and my former logitec m505 wireless mouse.
- more wires ... I've been trying to remove wires/clutter from around my pc ... now I have one more...


After intensive "testing" last weekend, I've more good feedback per the vespula mouse pad/surface. High points there are the comfortable gel rest, which allows for a variety of wrist positions. The "fine/fast" surface has also been nice - I feel my flying/helo-ing has improved some with that surface (less of a need to lift and move [I already have max/high sensitivity]). Drawbacks are, that the razor logo has already begun to wear off (have not had it a week yet?!?!).
