01-20-12, 02:55 PM #1mouse pain / improvements
Hello all,
I'm looking at doing some updates to my mouse situation and welcome some constructive feedback.
A) I'm seeking to get a mouse pad, likely with gel (i currently use the mouse directly on my wooden table). Extensive gaming streaks have been developing pain in my wrist. Candidates I'm looking at include:
# "gamery"
Newegg.com - RAZER Vespula Dual Sided Gaming Mouse Mat
# "generic"/cheaper (even for overpriced belkin)
Newegg.com - BELKIN WaveRest F8E262-BLK Gel Mouse Pad (Black)
B) I currently have a logitec m505, wireless mouse. Nice features are, that i uses the same radio transmitter for the keyboard. I like the compact and KISS features of the mouse (high dpi, not too much crap, works well enough). Unfortunately, the little slider pads on the bottom have started to come off. One option is to cry at logitec, see if they help (not expected). Ghetto options are to try and superglue the pads back on. Other options are to upgrade the mouse, for which I was looking at the following (saw good mentions of razer mice in this recent thread http://www.teamplayergaming.com/pc-h...e-mouse.html):
# back to wired -- does this make any difference?
Newegg.com - RAZER DeathAdder Precision Optical Gaming Mouse - 3.5G Infrared Sensor
thanks all for the feedback,

Re: mouse pain / improvements
Vespula rocks. I have been using the textured side with my g9x and it works like a dream. Mixed feeling about the gel pad though as I'm not used to using one but it IS comfortable. If you don't like the gel pad it can be used with out.
As far as wired/wirless goes, there is definetly a difference in feel. I have not tried the razor wireless $130 mouse yet but if I were to go wireless it would be that mouse (as I've played on other wireless mice and can feel the laaaaag). I can guarantee if you go back to a wired mouse (or get the razer) you will INSTANTLY notice a positive difference. Ask CRX2.0 about it, he just went through it himself...

If you want a nice ergonomic design, you'd like the Naga; very comfortable.
Belkin gel wrist rests are very comfortable, too.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Re: mouse pain / improvements
I have a Razer Goliathus mouse pad and Razer Diamondback 3G mouse.
If my mouse ever breaks, this will be my next mouse:
Newegg.com - RAZER DeathAdder Black 5 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Laser 3500 dpi Mouse - Left Hand Edition

Thx for the feedback all.
DJ Mr. White, that look like a nice mouse, but WAY too many buttons(ie: complexity) for me.
Guyver, glad to see your eyeballing the same mouse I pointed at for your next replacement.
GMG, you're a roll model to us all. MAKE IT HAPPEN, even with kiss items. Alas, with my lack of skillz I'm going to pursue the cushy mouse and gell pad for now .
WickedSoN, nice to hear your support of the gel pad. I've got a belkin gel mouse pad at work, which works well for me. But I want "something better/different" for home/play/gaming.
I'm going to sit on it for a couple days (ie: procrastination), but I think I'll be running with vespula pad and the transformers edition of the original model I was looking at (Newegg.com - RAZER DeathAdder - Transformers 3 Collectors Edition - Bumblebee RZ01-00152800-R3U1 Yellow 5 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 3500 dpi Mouse). It's a bit cheaper, and has the transformers logo, which I think is less ugly than the razer logo (subjective). I'll make some more noise when I progress.
best all,
