    Sold my xbox 360 for a ssd..... I think it was worth it

    Go into safe mode and type msconfig in the start menu. Check the Diagnostic Start up button under the General Tab. Disable all and restart the computer and try again.

    Also while in safe mode, check your networking connections. Make sure that you have all necessary connections and disable all others. Sometimes windows 7 finds a networking conflict with network connections that dont properly work because they didnt get setup properly.

    all honesty if restore fails there is something seriously wrong and you are better off doing a fresh install anyway.
