When I switch to HDMI in settings it shows on comp monitor as well as on the tv... I havnt found a way to change that. Or if it's even possible to completely have two separate things going from one gpu.

Make sure TV is set for the HDMI input that you have running
    Turn on Computer

You computer may activate "HDMI only" when it sees there's a valid HDMI destination. Your TV may not be telling your computer/HDMI input that unless it's on and on the correct source.

    What video card/driver you using?
It's a radeon HD 4300, and I just updated to the most recent drivers. I'll give that a try though.

    Two independent display controllers

Drive two displays simultaneously with independent resolutions, refresh rates, color controls and video overlays for each display
    ATI Radeon
