not replacing the cards. I have a pretty beefy spare system already, I wish my 9850 were compatible with this board, I'd swap it now and test that. I'm going to try to play again soon and wait to crash.

Any ideas on a reasonable 1155 crossfire mobo? Will my 4x4 16 gb corsair vengeance work with an i7 set up?

Looks like your MOBO took 4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066. If you have more info on exact speeds of memory this might help but most likely your memory will be good in almost any 1155 board.

am using the Asus Maximus IV GENEZ/GEN-3. It is the mATX form factor z68 chipset board; I love it. Makes OCing super easy. They make a regular ATX version too that probably has the exact same bells and whistles. ~200 (the mATX I got was 179 new)

Went out to Newegg and here's a decent looking one with rebate for $139. 4 out of 5 stars with 164 reviews plus Tom's Hardware recommended. Supports crossfire and sli. It's not PCI 3.0 though. However, it looks like the i7-2600 won't really support PCI 3.0 from a few things I've seen anyway.

This one is cheaper from ASRocks which I've been reading mixed things about but it's $121 and 4 out 5 stars with 384 reviews and HardwareMX recommended. It allows Quad crossfire and Quad SLI but I think from two cards because there's only 3 slots. Not sure about that one.
