Thread: My New Rig

Put together a new rig after I got a big contract last week. Will post some benchmarks later this week.

CPU: intel core i7 2600k (was on sale at Micro Center for $199)
Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth Z77
RAM: 32gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600
HArd Drive: Dual 256gb Samsung 830 SSDs in RAID0 on 6gb SATA, and a Wester Digital 1tb black drive for pictures, music and movies
Video Card: Galaxy GTX 680
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
Monitor1: ASUS VE278Q (27" LED LCD)
Monitor 2: Samsung P2570 (25" LCD)
Optical Deive: Cheap Piece of Crap. (really Need to upgrade it)
Case: Corsair 600t White
PSU: Corsair 800watt (will post specific model when I get home, can't remember right now)
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H80


Looking for some advice on the optical drive.

Mouse: Cyborg R.A.T.Z. 7
Keyboard: Microsoft Natural 4000
Speakers: Logitech THX 2.1 set (specific model when I get home)

Why 32 GB of RAM?

One of those with lightscribe support...or if you think you'll need it, that Sony one has a 5.2MB cache. If you think you'll be burning Blurays you could get a bluray burner, I guess.

32gb of ram for photoshop and premiere.

Screen Shot tomorrow. Working on cleaning up the cables and putting new fans on the H80. Bought 2 Cougar fans. real nice, silent as all get out

Had to remove half my ram. Some bad sticks. Getting replacement ram tomorrow.

btw you will note that's DirectX 11 with Everything Maxed.
