    Looking for a programmer

There are some pretty computer savvy people in here. If I wanted to hire a freelance programmer to do some projects, where is the best place to look? Maybe there's an online community of programmers, I don't know... any suggestions?

    Re: Looking for a programmer

Well, there's a few things we want to do, but the first project would involve SQL.

We have a computer monitor setup in the manager's office that displays all the machine status's in the shop. We want this completely re-done. Currently, it's receiving info from 2 SQL tables and reporting current status and list of machine events back. We want to setup some sort of automatic update which updates values in the DB SQL table. Currently, we are calculating cycle and idle times and adding these values into the table for quicker reporting but we are doing this every morning manually and we would like it to run at night automatically. We also have an access table where we summarize all the machine data for the day, we want this done automatically. We would be interested in starting to complete our many projects in VB.net, everything is currently in Access.

Check out vworker and similar sites. Vworker used to be called Rent a Coder.

    Re: Looking for a programmer

I checked out Vworker. Interesting concept and perfect for finding someone for a job where you never have to meet them face to face. I think we are starting to look towards finding someone in the Houston area only that's interested in eventually coming on full time.

I think I will repost this in the teamplayer jobs section.
