Re: HELP! Fried PC!
guru3d.com
etc.
but a good enough mobo with that CPU in particular will do it for you with a click of your mouse.
If you do not intend to OC at all, don't bother with the 2500k. Just get a 2500.
EDIT: Link removed... I never "read up on it" (so it might have been overclocker.com/net, ...clockers.com/net etc.) I just did it and googled each setting that i did not understand.
I don't want to advise on OCing too much. If you can do it, you can figure it out on google. Otherwise I will feel bad if you fry something! (hard to do with an i5 and Asus mobo though)Last edited by SapiensErus; 05-25-12 at 07:42 PM.

Re: HELP! Fried PC!
I have a chance to pick up this one for $400. I think that might work for my purpose too.
i5 2500, 2TB, 8GB DDR3. I am not sure what the graphic card is, either way I can put mine in.

Re: HELP! Fried PC!
overclock.net has worked for me.. I usually get a response with questions asked. If you search your processor/mobo combo there are people that have already oc'd and asked the same questions. Usually there is a general guide you can find that will break down the basis of OC on your setup. Follow this to get 75% of the way then ask questions to tweak. This is how I went about if for a first time oc'r.
