Arrrrgh, when will the upgrades end.

In theory the 690 should stave off GPU upgrading for at least two years IMO... it has so many more shaders than even a 590 did and those guys ran everything out now at top spec... Hell the 680 has more shaders than a 590.

The 6xx series looks to be a leap in technology similar to the release of the original 8800 series. My 8800 GTS 640s lasted a good 5 years and still run BC2 on a mostly high/med mix.

I would imagine if you are willing to play a few future releases at less than ultra you can get 3 or 4+ good years out of it.
