    SD card for phone

How can I tell what SD cards are compatible with my phone? I know I can use max 32GB, but I'm not sure about the speed classifications. I would like to buy online since a 32GB costs max $45 online but goes up to over $60 for something not nearly as good at the same size.

Will have Icecream Sandwich in a week most likely as they have started releasing it for Samsung phones.

I've never worried about speed. I just buy the max size that something can take and have never had a problem with them.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

    I would get a class 10 card,

The standards for SD cards are: SD, SDHC, SDXC. Thats the only compatibility you have to worry about.

For android it stores app data and secondary app storage on the sd card. So thats why a class 10 will make a difference! It did on my droid 1, and it does on my droid bionic.

    Re: SD card for phone

cellphones are typically ok with anything class 6 or better. The class number is the MB per second its rated at. So a class 2 card is 2mb/sec rating. High speed digital camera and video recorders require class 10 to manage high definition images quickly. If you put a class 4 card in a high speed digital camera you will have to wait for the image to write before the camera can take the next photo. Here is a good reference
Secure Digital - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I use class 6 in my phone and I can stream music and movies from it just fine. If you are going to use an adapter and frequently transfer files on or off the phone then a higher class card will save time in data transfers. If you want cross compatibility across all your devices (I use some SDHC cards in my tablet as well for example) then aim for the highest class you will need that is compatible across all your devices.
