    RAM conflict?

I just upgraded with a pair of 8GB G.Skill memory, and plopped them in with 4 GB of the same brand memory. Both are at the same speed with the same Cas Latency timings, same frequency. However, as a result, my Windows Experience Index thing for my video card went from about 7.4 to 6.0.

So the question is, is the RAM really hurting the performance of my video card? Or is Windows Experience just being dumb? I noticed Battlefield 3 being MUCH smoother with the increased RAM, and actually a bit higher on the framerate side.

    Re: RAM conflict?

Turns out that the Extreme Memory Profile was causing some conflict with the two sets of RAM. The 2x2 GB set seems to be defective, as it was trying to run at 1333 MHz instead of 1600, even though it's marked as 1600 on the sticks themselves. I took them out and turned off the XMP profile and everything is working as it should now.

Also, the marked frequently that you by ram at is just the highest frequently it was stable at. 1600 is actually overclocked.
