Consider getting rid of Norton (it sucks), and then install Microsoft security essentials.

MSE is actually pretty good. AVG seems to have gotten bloated over the years.

I use Microsoft security essentials on all my PCs. My work uses the enterprise version "Forefront" for our business systems.

You can still turn off most of the bloat in AVG. It's what I've been using and I'm fairly happy with it.

I'd be happier kneecapping the asses that make me have to get anti-virus. Whether that's Microsoft for their security holes or the guys that write the viruses or both, take your pick.

I use MSE because it is seamless... moved from AVG years ago... but they seem to both be acceptable. Norton puts your system on hold.

I hear you. AVG is still a good product. I used it for years as well. Just not as "simple" as some others anymore.

I've been using Avira for awhile with no problems, but they've gotten spammier lately. On a parents computer I put Panda Cloud which seemed nice, but they didn't leave it on long enough to know how well it works.
