    5400 v 7200 Rpm

Interesting video I found on youtube
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9f8fKn40kk

shows the difference in boot times, copying files over, and launching 39 apps at once between 2 computers the same but with those different hard drive speeds

Having an ssd is even faster. I love the load speeds of games.

My SSD has 120 GB. More than enough for OS and apps. Large local storage is silly IMHO.

i cant decide between a 128 and 256 ssd, or a hybrid even. My current desktop has 1 Tb HDD and ive used 734 GB of that, so im leaning towards the 256 ssd

My current SSD is 120G. I have a 180G sitting on my desk waiting to install it. The 120 is a pretty good size but the 180 will be perfect to keep most all of my main games on it.

    Re: 5400 v 7200 Rpm

I use a 180 but store everything I don't care about (speed wise) on a 10,000 RPM raptor. Steam makes it challenging but I just copy what I'm not playing off the SSD and put it back when I start playing the game again.

Very useful thread for those of you with hard drive space issues due to games in your steam folder.
