labtop 1500 budget, suggestions?

Sorry for another thread but that last one is kind of irrelevant now.
Im in the 1500 price range for a laptop that is good enough to run games (doesnt have to be super high end) but also that is relatively light and not a clunker because its for college

For the love of all things that are just and right, it is laptop and not labtop. It even tells you in your replies on the forums when someone is misspelled..

I've wanted this laptop for a while now, I haven't gotten it because I have no use for a gaming laptop. I have no idea what is considered light for a gaming laptop but I've always figured if its meant to run modern games it won't be light.

Its a little expensive and about average on the weight when it comes to gaming labtops and 17.3" is pretty large. Also I can't decide if i should get a 256 SSD, a mix 128 SSD + 500 GB, or a 1/1.5 TB HDD.

I got this laptops bigger brother, it is amazing..... a bit expensive, but it is built better than my 800D is.....

plus if opening up a laptop and removing its mainboard isn't too scary for you, you can get up to 16GB of ram and an SSD like I did to mine..... it cruises....

Don't get a SSD for a laptop, it will drain your battery faster than a standard HD. From what I read, which is kinda old, but it may still be true.

Shouldn't be at this point. Using a modern OS that is built for an SSD should remove that issue. With Windows 7, I'm seeing 15% improvement on battery life with SSD.
