    New Headset :(

So my SWTOR headset is failing me and I won't be able to play BF3 again until they start working again or I get a new set. It really sucks because I love them and only got them in December, but what ya gonna do?

Anyone with suggestions? I want another usb set and if possible ones with the mute and volume buttons on the headset itself. I hate the ones where the controls are on the cord somewhere, never made sense to me. I'd just get these SWTOR ones again but I'm afraid they are gonna stop working again so soon.

And my $10 desktop mike and my speakers work fine, but people don't seem to like it when I use them. Also BF3 just will never work on my computer without a usb headset. Has to do with my on-board audio and I don't feel like buying a card for it.

Oh, and wait for the Labor day sale to pick one up. A lot of times you can get one for less than $80.

Or a nice set of G930's, and you can walk around the house without ever looking back.

Love(ed) my G930s.....unfortunately they only last 2 years before the mic stopped working (crackling) and the plastic part that holds the earcups cracked! If you are gentle with your electronics, then def the g930s are good, but if you are like me and you are rough with your stuff, then you may need to invest in a sturdier pair. I picked up the beyerdynamic MMX-300s....5 year warranty and has STEEL and carbon fiber construction to ensure they won't break. Of course, they are pricier, but this time I am going with quality. And just for comparison sake...I've owned-

Razer barracuda- worst headset in the world....went through 2 of these before I said "screw it"....horrible construction and quality

Creative Fatality Headset- hurt my ears after a few hours....gave mine away

Alienware TacTx headphones- they were made by steelseries....horrible sound quality....gave mine away

Sennheiser PC-350s- great mic and sound, but they did not grab my head hard enough, i.e....they were loose on my head, so the sound was not quite what it should have been. Sold mine.

Razer Carcharias- Garbage sound....bought it as a gift for a friend and had a chance to try them out

Logitech G930- Best of the bunch....but unfortunately did not last for me

Beyerdynamic MMX300- sound, comfort and quality are out of this world...hopefully the investment will hold up!

You must have a small head Though admittedly I have to adjust them at just the right angle to get the noise cancelling fit correct. Those MMX-300s look awesome but holy shit expensive.
