    I am running my i5 2500k at 4.8Ghz on air... the i series CPUs can really take it.

    BF3 multiplayer is heavily CPU driven, from what I remember reading about game performance when it was first launched. It isn't necessarily the number of cores/threads, but the actual CPU clock speed. Even air cooled, you could OC a bit. Hell, if you bought an aftermarket air cooler, you could easily pull 3.6GHz.

    I've been playing with it tonight a bit. Definitely seem to be CPU bound. I've done a minor overclocking of 3% with no voltage change and it wasn't stable for more than 45 minutes. Even if I can get 20% more from the CPU, I don't think it's going to get me the performance I'm looking for from the SLI setup. I'll probably just return the video card. Damn good price for new though.

    Still don't understand why you needed another GPU for BF3. Your none SLI rates were awesome. I have a GTX 570 and a i7 920 as well and BF3 does great on max settings. Make sure your graphics drivers are up-to-date. They often add new or updated SLI profiles.

    Re: GTX 570 SLI - Fail

    Basically because I have the itch to do something with my computer. I also have a 120 hz monitor which would work better with 100+ FPS. That and it was a good sale. $199 for a GTX 570...

    Tried overclocking and my i7 920 didn't seem to care for it too much. Found a decent guide with how to exactly do it. Here's what I'd probably need to really get it done well:

    1. Better than stock cooler
    2. 750 watt + quality psu (610 should be enough but...)
    3. Faster memory ( 1066 memory currently)
    4. A room with temperatures below 85 degrees
    5. CPU that wants to be overclocked (I think mine is a bit fussy to be honest)
    6. Patience

    I really don't want to drop more money into something that works "fine". Eventually I'll replace the entire system and I'll go from there I guess. I was hoping someone would say, "Well, duhh, you need to flip this switch silly".

    Interesting how it's CPU limited in multiplayer but not really in single. One would think it'd be the other way around with having to deal with artifical intel...

    Did you enable SLI in the nvidia control panel?

    I used to run 570's in SLI and now I run one 670 and I don't see a difference. I get a cooler case and less energy usage.

    I got this one right here -> Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-N670OC-2GD GeForce GTX 670 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

    It came factory overclocked and runs just a smidgen slower that the 680. I sold the 570's on ebay for the price I paid for the 670.

    Yeah, I had SLI enabled. Worked for the single player version of BF3. Saw some large increases. But not in multiplayer...
