Who cares if I have internet 24/7 if their servers are down, which was the complaint that was linked in the OP.

All they need to do is make it all optional and all will be right with the world again. But REQUIRING a connection when there's multiple points of failure that can happen is ludicrous. It seems like nobody ever learned from an MMO launch (they ALL crash, lag, whatnot on launch day). It's bad enough when a piece of software is being a bitch. But you can always load something else up. When a needed user input device says "nope, not gonna work because I can't call home." someone needs a boot up the proverbial ass.

    Amen.

This thing violates a fundamental design principle. It's just wrong.

I don't understand why we keep letting companies get away with it.

Re: Aaaand won't be buy any Razor products

I still don't think it is a big deal. Likely, if my internet is down, I wouldn't be playing a game that utilizes the functions of this mouse anyways.

Non-issue in my book. Now if the mouse ALWAYS requires an internet connection in order to work or install drivers, then that is a problem. If a mouse or keyboard prevented me from doing a new install or troubleshooting stuff in the BIOS, then I would join the boycott. But for simply not being able to use the profile for my MMORPG... that is a stretch.

And again... refusing to buy any Razor product because one is terrible would be like refusing to buy all games from that developer because they put out one bad one. Just silly, in my opinion.
