How awesome is your audio / microphone setup?

    Hey all,

Well as some of you may know I have used a wired xbox controller and the headset attachment as my microphone for many many years. Other than the terrible sound and build quality; the finicky driver support; I also hate wearing things on my head.

So for Christmas my parents bought me a Rode PSA-1 Studio Microphone arm. How thoughtful of them. They did not however get me anything to place on such an arm.

    I remedied that real quick.

Meet the Rode PSA-1 with attached MXL V69 Mogami Edition microphone.

I am a bit of an audiophile, so while you all may not be able to hear the difference in game due to the voip functionality in such games, know that it is no fault of mine......

Here is a better photo of my whole setup:

Thats a pair of KRK Rokit 10-3 Monitors
    a HSU ULS-15 Subwoofer
    an Onkyo TX-NR809 Reciever
the MXL V69 Mogami Edition Microphone
and the Rode PSA-1 Studio Microphone Arm...

    I absolutely love it.......

anyone else have as ridiculous an audio setup as me?

    No.

    Nice setup, though.

Sweet set up....what kind of soundcard are you using? I'm rocking the asus phoebus with built in amplifier as a card, powering my beyerdynamic mmx300s. I'm an audio whore as well, and these satiate my ear palate like a champ. I am however in the market for external speakers....have my eyes on the audioengine A5s...the rokits are very comparable....gonna be a tough choice!

I am not using any soundcard for my speakers. I take the HDMI straight out of the video card and route it through my receiver for the audio. With really high end sound gear you will find that any soundcard sucks..... you get this really high pitched noise from the powersupply inside your computer. In fact, you don't want any computer to be on the same circuit in your house as it messes with the ground and screws with speakers/subs.

For the microphone input I am running it through a MOTU Microbook II. It is a small audio interface with more capabilities than I really need (might look into using it as a high pass filter to protect my subwoofer in the future).
