The 6950 is superior in pretty much every way.
As for the hard drive/Windows situation, my brother thinks that updating the firmware was the problem. The issue is that this older computer that I'm using has trouble booting from an IDE drive while a SATA drive is plugged in, so I'm downloading the mobo drivers (VERY SLOWLY). If I can run the utility to flash the SATA drive back to an older version, I might still be able to fix this."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

Turns out that firmware update bricked the entire solid state drive.
We still have the Windows installation disc and possibly the key for it, but there are complications: namely, my current DVD drive isn't advanced enough to access the disc fully, so I formatted a flash drive and copied the files over, which allows it to boot from the flash drive. Unfortunately, my SATA drive can't have Windows 7 installed on it because I'd already formatted it. I tried Clean All from diskpart to zero every sector on the drive, but all that seems to do is make the command prompt unusable - that, or it's taking a long time to zero every sector.
In short, frustration abound."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

Alright. Windows successfully installed on my backup HDD. I'll probably be back in action tomorrow.
The card's also going to Rumble as a donation after Monday morning, so tomorrow's the last day you guys have. If you know of anyone else who's interested, I'll also sell to them."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

Alright. The offer is now closed. The video card has already been sent to Rumble as a donation for a project of his, and there's no getting it back now.

Too bad. I just decided today that I would be throwing a mid range card in my HTPC so I can run some Steam games in Big Picture Mode. This was right in my price range. Oh well... you snooze, you lose.
