Re: wasnt the vid card
the only way to know is if you put the processor in another motherboard and run it. if it doesn't run its the processor if it does run its the motherboard. the likelihood of you getting two motherboards with bad sockets is near impossible. its not the power supply if you get powered up that far where it is trying to post.

Re: wasnt the vid card
Stupid as it sounds id start small an check an make sure all wires are plugged in properly. I think an easy way to start would be to plug the monitor in to the laptop which hopefully is capable. If you can and it does not turn on you have found your problem. You know its not the vid card, ram normally gives you an error. When your. Computer turns on do your fans spin louder than normal?

Moving, where do you live and what motherboard and processor do you have? Maybe someone's nearby that has a compatiable setup to test with?
As for the CPU, see Moving's post on that one:http://www.teamplayergaming.com/pc-h...mal-paste.html
I'm a bit concerned if there was NO thermal paste on it. Could have cause issues with the CPU. However, depending on the CPU, it should throttle if it's over heating. Hmmm, now I need to do some research to see.Last edited by RhysJD3; 01-07-13 at 05:09 PM.

*/its colder then fuck in my house so no over heating i always used to check that this dell i'm using has a pentium 2 and it looks intgrated so i dont think i can pop it out to check with a swap i'm most likely gonna take it to some place in town but i'd like to eliminate as many problems as possible i was thinking maybe the power connector i plugged in but i dont think therd be an issue if the new cards fans are spinning
