The Titan outpaces the 690 in multi-screen gaming because of the extra VRAM. The one thing the Titan has over the 690 is it's a single chip solution so you don't have the issues found in the 690 (and other SLI solutions) like micro-stuttering.

This I can absolutely agree with. If you are going to go for 3 x 1080p screens in nVidia surround, then yes I think the Titan is better based on the current benchmark/testing.

Add a second Titan and you will face the micro stutter that some complain about with SLI performance. I have been running SLI/Crossfire setups for 5 years and I have never really noticed such nonsense, but some say they experience it.

With me I think it is the better choice to get a second 690. Even if I sell my current 690 for $800, that means I will still have to pay about $1300 out of pocket to get two Titans (if I can even find them when they are released). Getting a single Titan is NOT an option because it would be a downgrade. It is either 2 690s or 2 Titans. I would rather pay only $1000 + tax for the 2nd 690 than what it would cost for the Titans.

You'll still get better performance out of dual 690's than you would with dual Titans since you're only running 2560x1440. The extra VRAM on the Titan really only benefits surround gaming. All the reviews show the 690 being superior at every 'regular' resolution than Titan.

Would it be beneficial for me to upgrade to the Titan rather than getting a second GTX680 Classified? Wish I would have waited i just built my comp 2 weeks ago.

What resolution are you running on your monitor(s)?

Right now I'm running two monitors at standard 1920x1080 but plan on getting another here soon and running them in surround.
