Re: Need a writer
If you're traveling, I'd recommend starting and documenting for a few weeks before you post. That way you can keep something up every week when you catch up. Just a thought.
I'm not very good with wood working but I've seen some wood cases on frozencpu. Thought it'd be an interesting project. They don't seem to offer them currently but they ran about $800. Here's some from other places.
nMEDIAPC HTPC 8000 HTPC Case - Newegg.com
iameco : green wooden computer PCs
I don't have the extra money or parts but I've thought that building a completely immersed PC would be interesting. Or building a watercooling unit that goes into a mini-fridge for extra cooling and keeps your beers cold would be cool. Having a cooling system in my case for 2-4 beers would be cool too.. Just not sure how you'd get them cool enough. Also, don't want them getting warm then cold...

Not all beer is best when cold Rhys. In fact there is plenty of beer that is better at or around room temperature. The 38 degrees most people keep their refrigerators at actually causes the beer to taste different because the aromatic elements of the beer's make-up cannot become airborne because they are too cold.

Re: Need a writer
I don't have enough progress to do an official post, and I don't want to start a thread just yet for the same reason....
So I will just leave this here:
2013 03 01 Screenshot 1 by rush2049, on Flickr
Black = computer components with correct scale, size, and location
red = fan
all other colors will be wood, just made them different to differentiate.
What you cant see is the mortise and tenon joint the diagonal back plate makes with the bottom.
I will be attempting three things I have never done before in this build:
mortise and tenon joints
dove tail joints
hidden seamless hinges
We shall see how I do....Last edited by rush2049; 03-01-13 at 08:52 AM.
