Re: Windows 8
Thanks fellas, I have dual monitors so I switched the start menu to the left. So basically I have my desktop showing on both monitors and when I wan't to see the start menu I just hit the windows key and it will open up on the left. This actually isn't so bad, it's basically the same thing as windows 7 except you have the new start up menu and there is a different way of navigating to your programs. Also you can still pin programs on your taskbar just like windows 7. So if you're like me you pin the most commonly used programs there.
Also the apps aren't so bad, I'm going to install netflix and some others that I find useful.

Re: Windows 8
The new update comin in a couple months actually makes dual monitors easier to sue with win8. I have trouble with doing stuff in between the monitors(changing apps on my Right screen or accessing the charms on my left screen). If you're just using the hot keys though you shouldn't have the issues. I just hope they make it so I can use my 2nd screen to have the start menu always up. That would be nice.
Also, as a side issue, Steam for some reason doesn't do well with Win8 Metro stuff. If you have an App open and click on a steam window it closes the app back to desktop. This goes for chat as well. Not sure what the issue is, but it can be irritating especially if you skype and steam chat.

Re: Windows 8
Which apps do you have installed? Are there any that are actually useful? This is what I don't understand about windows 8. Apps are generally used as a lite version of something else. So like on my phone, I don't wan't to load the full BofA website, so I have an app that is a lite version of it. So if I'm already on a computer, why would I use the app? Just go to the website instead where you have the full site.

Re: Windows 8
For stuff like that hah. I recently installed the TBS app, and watch Conan interviews and stuff on there. Weather of course cause it's just right there on the live tile. I also have the Bing News app up cause I don't read a whole lot of news and it's something to skim through the top headlines.
Honestly, the Live tiles are one of the coolest features, I don't even open my Weather app very often cause the temp is on the live tile. Aside from that, I feel the same as you. I use the internet more than I would an app so I don't have that many. Skype and the MS apps(onenote, mail, people, messeger, and all that)
