Yeah, 20 megs was still around then but on it's way out. 40 megs was pretty standard. And, if you were silly, you shelled out almost $500 for a 250M disk. And ran Windows 3.0 - to start up DOS apps. Ironic.

I was running on DOS before 3.1 was ever thought about. God I love how simple it is.

DOS. LOL. And the real power users had Norton Utilities 1.0 - which sorted directory listings. Bitchin'.

Before decent computer games we used to sit and sort our directories. And muck with the interleave setting of our HDD - so that we could sort directories even quicker. That's entertainment. And when we really got rowdy we defragged our hard drives.

Those were awesome. How much data would fit in a box that size now? 8TB? 12TB? More?

8TB would be 800,000 of those old clunkers. Semi-trailer loads. That's silly improvement.
Isnt the biggest hard drive out there 1tb? I bought one and its SLOW AS HELL

Norton Utilities sorted directories. Another software utility changed the HDD interleave, but I don't recall what it was called. Disk Doctor maybe? SpinRite!

Last fall I tossed out my vintage software collection, and my vintage PC's Limited Turbo XT w/ 20MB HDD, 8-bit 8MHz CPU, and Windows 2.0. It was pretty funny. Michael Dell included a customer feedback card that asks how well they did. I still have it and am thinking about writing him back - and telling him that they did quite well

Apparently SpinRite has been updated over the years. They have some videos that describe error correcting codes, Windows' HDD utilities, S.M.A.R.T, etc. Good geek stuff.

    An Idea!

If we have any game skinners etc. out there, why don't we make some LMM skins (simply a/the LMM logo on the shoulder or something?)

I was gonna make some Dawn of war badges and banners for LMM and wondered if the same could be applied to other games easily

Just a thought, Dawn of war LMM badges and banners coming soon (hopefully anyway, it'll be my first try)

also, which logo would be best from all the skins etc?
