Yea, 1680x1050 requires a pretty hefty setup.

Widescreen all the way baby! Grats on the new sweetness digital!

and you dont need all that much system, a 150$ 1950 pro or 7900gt will push out 1680x1050 no problem. I can push that to my dell 24 with an ass old x800xl...

In fact. I just bumped the resolution to the max right now. THIS IS FREAKIN SWEET! I was just at 1024x768. Now I am at 1680x1050 with no problems.

    Sweet.

I&#39;m also looking for a widescreen. I hate these big monitors.

Re: I bought a new monitor

I posted some widescreen thoughts here:

    http://www.texasteamplayers.com/index.php?topic=12941.0

with some reason for and against it.

    and in this thread:
    http://www.texasteamplayers.com/index.php?topic=13039.0
    it was determined that:
The <a href=http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001096> Samsung 226BW</a> looks to be the best 16:10 widescreen ratio LCD available. ~$300

Re: I bought a new monitor

I agree with Mcstrange. Either the Viewsonic VX922 for 4:3 or Samsung 226BW for 16:10 are the best monitors for gaming.
