From an audio quality thing as compared to my sound card, the quality is not as good, but as far as radio, even HD radio, is concerned even an output frequency of 96kHz is overkill.
This thing can handle 16 different streams at once, mix audio of different sample rates in real time with essentially no lag, the list goes on.
So, it's a good expensive thing (it's a $2k sound card.)enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

Re: Holy Crap
The input and output sections isn't very impressive. It can do 8 stereo outputs, so I read that as a double 7.1 surround sound capability. As 7.1 is accomplished with 4 stereo outputs. If you consider high end stuff though (11.2 surround sound) which is 7 stereo outputs then you are getting close to maxing it out.
The input is one stereo jack, worse than a typical high end sound card that often has mic in and line in, or more.
All the formats it supports are standard, but the sample rate mixing is unique, though I have seen it done before.
Re-routing of the audio chain is kinda nice for a sound card. Though receivers do that too..... and audio interfaces can do all that and more.....
Basically what it is is an audio receiver like functionality in a sound card. Is it worth $2k, in my mind no......-- Intentionally Left Blank --

The features that it has are very nice for radio play though. Add to that the workstation quality parts, and I would say it's worth the cost in the long run. If we went with say, the Claro Halo or the Claro 2 from HT Omega, we'd need at least two of them, and we would need to jury rig connections for outgoing and incoming signals thanks to the standard in/outs that are used for radio equipment.
That being said, I would freaking love it if HT Omega or Asus came out with something that had those nice features, but with the superior sound quality. Of course, since the station doesn't have the ability to broadcast in HD rate now, it's not that big of a deal.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
