I decided I wanted no more in line controls, and solid build quality of which feel as if they won't break of they are dropped or tossed in anger. The Logitechs fit the bill just fine.

I have a friend that has the Corsair Vengeance 1500, and I used them for a few minutes when testing a game on a new build we did for him. I was quite impressed with them and if my G35s were to take a crap anytime soon, the Corsair headphones would be on my list of possible replacements, although the 1500s have an in line control hub, which I can't stand because I know the inevitable... I stand up, and the in line controls are caught in my chair arm, and something breaks.\

While I think the overall quality of 7.1 analog is great... the digital sound is really pretty good nowadays, and the convenience factor means a lot to me as I tend to travel and I enjoy headphones that can be used in ANY sound configuration (as long as there is USB).
I have the 1500 from corsair and it has amazing build quality. I have done exactly what you described many many times and although it is very annoying when it happens I tend to just carry on like it didn't even happen now. They are literally tug proof. However I wouldn't ever get those headphones ever again. If your head size is even slightly bigger than the average person you will develop a nasty headache due to the pressure they create that constantly bares down on your head.

I am currently looking into getting a new headset myself. I would like to try corsairs next attempt at top end headsets but I think I would rather move onto sennheiser or something.

My medusas just died on me. I picked up the Astros A50's. took me a bit to figure out how to run them through optical out and all but after a bit of tweaking I really like them. The freedom of wireless is awesome. Also for the first time I bought the extended warranty plan from BB. 2yr coverage. I rarely have a set last 2 years.

I love mine. Very comfortable and a very long battery life. They'll also work with a console quite well.

We need to chat at some point in the near future if you don't mind. Just want to make sure I am getting all I can out of them performance wise.

So long as you have them set up per the instructions Astro gives, you'll be fine. They're easy to get set up. Not much needs to be done. I only change settings since I also use a pair of AKG k702s; mind you I have a headphone amp on my sound card that cuts out jitter.

I use the Razer Carcharias, I used an old G330 USB connection to make connection simple. Since I carry my headset with me and use it at work on my work system and at a part time job on my laptop. Then of course I use them at home on my home system. I have had them for over a year and a half now and with all in and out of my back pack and dropping them they have held of very good.

uggg site goes down as i post my nice long post...

    leme retype...

    I LOVE the g35's!

First, g35's have controls on the headset, a convenient and out of the way place. My tritton (pos) headset had a control box on the cord, which loved to grab on to clothing and fuck up volume settings and randomly mute my mic.

The g35's have a nice led on the mic to let you know its muted. Its the perfect brightness. Bright enough to see, but dark enough that its not obnoxious.

The g35's have a epic folding mic whereas my pos trittons had a detachable mic that when not in use, had to be detached as a fall to the floor could easily snap the cheap fuck mic connector. So when jumping into VOIP, it was always a game of finding my mic somewhere on my desk. Now i just fold down the mic on the g35's (which auto mutes when folded up, LOVE IT!)

The g35 cord is really nice weaved cord. My trittons had a fuck pos plastic coating that loved to fall apart with the inevitable twisty cord syndrome:Headsets, what's happened?-20130606_152826_small-jpg
as you can see (THIS IS MY OLD TRITTON HEADSET), all of that is not even one foot from the headset. God awful to have hanging and dragging across one's shirt. Fuck tritton!

My only complaint with the g35's is the dolby digital switch. Some apps, come across horrible with the switch in certain state (I haven't figured out which way is on or off yet). For example, with the switch up, mumble only comes through my right speaker, google talk does not come through any speakers unless the switch is down.... which may not sound bad. But if i have to play certain games with dolby off simply because it fucks up voice, then i am forced to use 2.1 (because the virtual dolby 7.1 is off) which in competitive games can be a SERIOUS disadvantage. But I am sure there is a setting I am missing... Certain apps are obviously forcing sound to certain speakers that do not exist in the dobly virtual pipe... Theres a lot of settings to play with though in the g35 logitech config so its certainly fixable... But i currently play LoL with mumble so I haven't put much effort into solving it...

Very comfortable and has swappable head cushions (I havent needed to swap yet so cant speak regarding that)

Finally, it's rather convenient to have a headset that only needs usb...

I love it though, would buy it again!.
