Server Issue, Need Immediate Help!!!
I have a customer with a Dell PowerEdge that runs Server 2003, and has 3 250gb drives in Raid0+1.
I need to replace all 3 drives simultaneously and am putting in 3 750GB drives.
I need to know if there is a way to save the server configuration (user accounts, active directory, file shares) and implement them on the new drives without having to reinstall 2003 and manually put everything back?
I have to do this upgrade Sunday. Please help.Rumble

A single server with everything on it? Bad practice. You should be able to ghost the mirrored drive, then use that to build a new array. Maybe. But for all that is holy and right by the IT gods, get them off of a single point of failure server while you are at it.

Do a complete backup, and then restore from it on new drives. If they have OEM licensing and the motherboard hasn't changed you should be fine for your license. I don't envy you the backup technology in 2003 was not that great. On the positive side you have the original drives to pop back in should it fail to restore from backup.
