Yeah, I've had the galaxy nexus for the past year or so and I've loved it. Just pure and simple android with no overlays or UI replacements and the thing Is stupid fast.
I'm with Verizon so I did have to wait for the initial push to jelly bean. But, Google releases the source for their updates most times so you can manually update it without needing to root the phone.
I didn't do that, I just waited for the update to push, bit with how long I've had to wait for it, I might manually updating it for future versions

Well that might work for Google branded phones but probably not with the other manufacturers that use android. Don't get me wrong I like all the cool things the manufacturers do with android and making it their own but at least for once give the option to choose.

Google has Nexus Experience versions of both the HTC ONE and S4 coming out tomorrow.

Not an issue here in Europe. I have had two Androids here. A Motorola Defy and now my S3. I got the S3 last year when it first came out and I got the Defy when it first came out. Throughout the life of both phones, no updates were ever delayed. Besides, you can get the updates for the Samsungs straight from Samsung using Kies from your PC.
