windows 7 install help

Microsoft added functionality back in after great backlash to where you can fresh install win 7 on a formatted drive from an upgrade disk. Just have to change one zero in the registry. Easy as pie, tons of Google tutorials on finding the right field.

Any luck yet? On some motherboards, you have to enable/change boot settings in the BIOS.

Have you tried checking out your BIOS? Typically when you turn on your computer you hit f11 or f12 real quick depending on which brand of mobo you have, then you can look at which types of boots are enabled and you can play with the boot priority, like putting booting from the disk as the default and then changing back to the hard drive once windows is installed

Its also possible you have a corrupt disk or you didn't make it bootable. Did you burn an ISO to the DVD (you mentioned OEM) or is it actual software from Microsoft. If you burned it you have to create an ISO to make it bootable.

You can also do a clean install, skip the verification, upgrade the clean install, and then verify.

well bunni was helping me the other night and when i went to switch a setting in my bios he told me to switch i decided to dick around a little to see if i could find anything and saw that my USB keyboard and mouse were disabled in the bios. I think that fucker at the computer shot did that so i would have to take it back to him when something like this happened. thanks for the help guys i appreciated it but i'm running windows 7 now so i'm all good. just need a few more updates and to redownload all my games. hopefully be gaming tonight or tomorrow night. already got my LoL partially downloaded.
