If your budget is $800 for basically everything but mouse, keyboard, monitor, you can... When you say you can't beat it for the money, I agree that there is some sort "sweet spot" for getting the best performance for your dollar, but the ultimate deciding factor is often the budget. If you only have $600 for the entire system, spending $300+ on a CPU/board doesn't leave much room in the budget for a GPU.

Alright after doing some research over the past couple of days me and a friend came up with a build for the comp but I wanted to post it on the forums first and see what you guys thought about it and see if you had any suggestions. ^ What that guy said. You would be miles ahead going with ivy bridge intel instead of the FX line of AMD. The price though is hard to argue even if it doesn't stack up well comparatively speaking.

Re: Budget Gaming PC Suggestions
For whatever reason I have brand loyalty to AMD. I have a 8350 vishera and needless to say it runs well. I've never had any issues with amd. They may not be as nearly efficient in terms of power and hear, but it runs fine for me.
That seems high for a 7870. I have the oc'd version and I got it for $180. Hang around myfatwallet or slickdeals and wait for one to pop up on sale.

Not to sound like a broken record from other threads but spend the extra $30 and go with a core i5 and MSI Mobo bundle from MicroCenter.
