New Build. Your thoughts please
Whats up PPG'ers
I'm having a new computer built mainly to do work using Photoshop and Illustrator but also wanted something that would handle some games. I'm hoping to start playing again soon esp when battlefield 4 comes out.
Here's what I'm looking at and I'm hoping I can get some feedback. Thanks in advance!
CPU - AMD FX - 8150 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor
CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Mortherboard - ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Memory - G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage - Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Video Card - XFX Radeon HD 7950 3GB
Case - NZXT Source 210 Elite (White) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply - OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
I know there are some pros and cons to every part esp the processor but I am on a bit of a budget. In all
including having this put together for me the build is costing me about $900
Thanks agian

Looks good! I hope you have more storage than 120gb... Photoshop loves Ssd so make sure to give it a secondary scratch disk, I use about 60gb of my Ssd for photoshop only. If you do use a secondary scratch disk try to is a fast disk, I can tell when mine goes over to it because it becomes so slow! Also when using capture 1 and photoshop together does the same thing.
Have fun with that build it will love photoshop!

Should run great using that many cores. This is definitely a build for an AMD for once. I also second SSDs for those programs. It's made a different for what I've used them for even if I don't have 60GB of stuff like Max.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

If you're going to be usin photoshop and other editing programs should you consider faster ram? 1866mhz or 2133mhz?? Most cases the price hike doesn't justify going to 2133mhz but if you can find a deal why not. I got 16gb ddr3 2133mhz for $120. I'm not real in tune with the market but I felt like it was a good price.

I simply have a hard time recommending anything AMD Bulldozer based on the terrible performance reviews. It is more of a budget part nowadays, which may be more in line of what you need, but eh...

Budget was a major concern. I need to get this done for under a $1000.
I've had concerns about the MOBO if anything. Too many reviews saying it died after just a year.
We'll see how it turns out. I'll definitely keep you all posted.
And Guyver, I've been MIA working stupid hours.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
