Monitor Showdown ASUS PA248Q vs DELL 2412M

Hey everyone,
Since I gave my 22" Samsung monitor to my dad for his business (old eyes, needs to see bigger things), I've been stuck on a 15" Compaq FP5315.... yeah 1024x768 gaming goodness.

So I'm in the market for a monitor I can actually do something on.
Here are the choices I've boiled it down to. Any other options around this price range is welcome as well.

ASUS PA248Q

DELL 2412M

Both are IPS panels at a 16:10 aspect ratio (1980 x 1200). The price is surprisingly low and from what I've been reading both perform well. Typical light bleeding for an IPS display on both. I was wondering if anyone here has had an experience with either of these monitors before? There is a $20 MIR on the ASUS that expires on the 31st so I wanted to jump on it if the monitor was decent. I have two of the Dell 2412's and couldn't be happier.

I have an Asus. It comes precalibrated, and the build quality is nice. Dell is also nice (Heavy swears by them).

Those Dells must be nice. Heavy sold me my 27" Samsung that looks great because he liked the Dells better.

Dell has always had GREAT monitors/laptop displays. My current monitor is a 24" dell (1920x1200) that I've had for at least 7 years. Don't even remember when I actually got it. It might be 8+ years old.

I may swap out my primary gaming monitor for one that supports G-Sync next year after they hit the market... TN/TFT panels... so inferior image/color quality, but smoother performance in games...

I heard good things about the fast refresh ben Q monitors. I am tempted to upgrade but don't feel like paying out! My screen is old and needs to become my palette monitor! Plus the older 19" is dying.
