Yup. And considering an Intel CPU w/ 4 cores and hyperthreading can beat out an 8 core AMD at similar frequencies says something about the superiority of the Intel architecture. Consider also that it can do it with less electricity speaks volumes to the success of Intel's research and development.

AMD got lucky along the way and surprised Intel with the original Athlon. They awoke the sleeping beast that is Intel R&D and they put all their time & effort into crushing AMD... sadly it's worked because AMD is just a shell of what it used to be and I think their days in the desktop space are coming to an end.

VoIP is 90% better, still occasional blips but nothing crazy - now I can hear everyone! Game wise I was seeing 40-60fps. Now 70-130fps... Its pretty nuts! Very worthy upgrade.

Numbers are great but what would you say about how it "feels"? I like numbers so don't misunderstand me but when you get a pc that can handle the game, there's a smoothness that numbers don't show. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being I wasted every dollar I spent to 10 being, I feel like a god in the game, where do you think this upgrade put you and what number would you use for your old rig?

I feel smoother, its still not buttery but I jumped into another server and it was a different game altogether. My route to tpg servers seems meh and as a result is a little choppy sometimes. Amazing fun though the game looks insane. I feel like I no longer die cheap deaths and my shots land well. Even if I miss a shot I now feel its just me sucking as opposed to lag/jitter. My skill is going up a bit too so I guess its helping me manoeuvre better!

Value for money? 10/10 definitely worth the upgrade.
