    Re: Pulled The Trigger

Yea they are console games ported to the PC, that is why I wasn't crushed ordering on amazon instead of newegg. The fact that I ended up getting them anyway was an unexpected surprise. I think to really play them I will need a like a PS4 game controller for my PC cause the keyboard controls don't necessarily match the onscreen commands. The games are pretty though, nice graphics. I will get around to playing them more eventually once I get a game controller.

Batman is one of the most boring piles of crap I have ever played. Even worse than Tomb Raider (pick one, or all). All you do is walk and hit the Spacebar to talk to people. Every once in a while you have to flick your cape at some retarded henchmen, but I'm convinced that it is only to make sure you haven't fallen asleep. Really a waste of an hour that I will never get back. It's like watching a horrible movie that stops every once in a while, and makes you hit the SB, just to make sure it is still annoying you. Uninstalled.
Did you play the lat two Batman games? If Arkham Origins is anything like those, it's fantastic. I have heard mixed things about the Splinter Cell game though.

    EDIT:
What the? Dragon's Lair sucked? No way.

...and I was also playing Excite Bike and SMB...so,

Yes! The new Tomb Raider was pretty friggin awesome. Even if shooting wolves with a bow and arrow is almost impossible with an XBOX controller. How people play any sort of shooter game without a mouse and keyboard is beyond me.

And the rest are horrible. Terribly boring and pointless wastes of time. Walk all the way across the map, put the three bullets you have into the Bengal Tiger, and flip a lever. That lever opens a drawbridge on the other side of the map, which hides another lever. Make your way paste the tiger, this time with no bullets, and walk climb and jump for an hour to reach the new lever. Pull that lever, and it opens a drawbridge on the other side of the map, which hides another lever. Over and over and over again. After a few releases, they made her tits bounce, so you at least you had something to look at during your lever quests. I'd rather pound sand up my ass than play a minute of any Tomb Raider. At least I wouldn't have to backtrack.
My experience with the first Tomb Raider was a bit different. I originally got the game for Christmas in 1996, but was so obsessed with Quake at the time that I didn't really play it until summer 1997, which was okay because I had been given a 3DFX Voodoo PURE 3D card so I could really make Tomb Raider look amazing.

Not only did the game have great graphics and sound for the era, but it was a great change of pace compared to the FPS games of the same era. I loved Quake and Duke Nukem, but the formula of finding key cards, opening doors, and blasting enemies was starting to get stale. Having to think and solve puzzles might be a bit eye rolling for modern games, but this element is also what made Half Life such a great game. Sometimes the combat would stop and you would have to explore around a bit and interact with part of your environment before continuing.

It was a formula that worked and was a breath of fresh air to those of us that had been rocket jumping around Quake in Nightmare mode. I still say Tomb Raider 1 and 2 are great games, but every one after that I didn't even bother with until the 2013 reboot.

I liked the Batman games, but my thumbs hurt after a while. Batman is a button mashing hero.

I know right? To top it off after the install I was trying it out and my wife walked up behind me, put her arms around me and kissed the top of my head. Then she says " I don't see any difference"

    I'm calm now

    Pulled The Trigger

I did manage to squeeze out an average of 120 fps in BF4 on ultra with a few tweaks ( thanks Warprosper)
