Re: LogMeIn ends Free service.
I checked out Dameware briefly. Can you do all of the AD and GPO stuff from a tablet? Also, how does it handle remote users? One of the things I like about GoToAssist is that I get a link I can send a remote user for them to click on and install the remote agent. once the session ends, it uninstalls itself. Does Dameware do something like that?

I used dameware in the past. Never really cared for it.
What kind of remoting are you going to be doing? Is this something as simple as remote support to clients? If so why not just use a vpn client and remote assistance? If it's more difficult, build up a remote administration system that you can remote to via vpn.

Re: LogMeIn ends Free service.
Basically remote support to a home user. Although there is a VPN to their house, it's only used for a remote VoIP phone, I don't want the added responsibility of having to make sure their home computers aren't infected with viruses. Even if I wanted to do a remote assist... most of the home users aren't the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree (Dumber then a box of rocks) and they would find it difficult to set it up or use. So, I need an extremely simple solution which is why we use GoToAssist. They click on the link and keep clicking "Yes".
