Emergency headset ideas?!?
I just successfully broke my 80$ turtle beach headset that was quite a few years old, can any of you guys point me in the direction of a good headset?
Preferably under $100.
Thanks for the help!

Are you looking for USB, or standard 120mm plugs into a 5.1/7.1 surround sound card? Or just plain stereo?
It is hard to beat the Logitech G35. The mic is super clear, the surround sound is digitized (not true surround as there are only 2 speakers) and sounds surprisingly good. I wouldn't recommend for someone looking for a good audiophile headset for music. I have owned mine for 5 years, and they still feel and work like they are brand new.

Astro had quite a bit of advertising at PAX East for some of their headsets. I saw some of the more expensive sets (upwards of $250) and they looked pretty impressive. They have a $100 priced set as well that gets some pretty decent reviews:

The Corsair Vengeance 1500 are pretty decently priced ($80) and get good reviews. The 1500 actually got Editor's Choice award from PCPerspecitve.

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with the Logitech G35s for a gaming headset based simply on the convenience and quality. I know that several people here on TPG have them and can vouch for the performance and durability, but I would also seriously consider the Corsair 1500 as a second contender based on the reviews.

I have to go with heavy on this one, g35 is the best headset I've ever had and I've had mine for about 4 years now.
As it happens, my brand new $80 razer kraken pro I got just refuses to work with my HT Omega sound card. My brother plugged it in to his pc and it worked like a charm so I know it's not the headset it's my sound card. I mostly got it to try out because of all of its good reviews but it's just been sitting on my desk for 2 weeks. It's literally brand new, if you're interested I'd give it to you for around $35ish if you want to save some money. No pressure if you'd rather buy a new one, I'm just trying to decide what to do with it.

If you have Amazon Prime, you can get a set of G35s for the same price as Newegg, but free 2-day shipping.

If you want wireless, they have the G930's for the same price.

I have owned a pair of the g930 as well as the g35. The convenience of wireless is sometimes really nice, but compared to the g35 they are a little less sturdy feeling and the sound isn't quite as clear. It isn't bad by any means, probably better than most, but if you don't mind the wire than I'd recommend the g35 over the g930.

I prefer wired over wireless, looks like the G35 it is! Is there still a link around here somewhere that I should click before I buy it? Anyone remember what I'm talking about? It's been so long since I last bought anything from newegg.
