    I'd go with an Nvidia card if you are buying used...just because there is a very high likelihood that an AMD card was used for bit mining...which is very intensive work.

    I have one in my HTPC for 1080p gaming. It rocks. The R9 280x was better at practically everything, but it simply didn't fit in my HTPC case. I have the EVGA GTX 760.

    Funny thing is that I bought it back in like December or January (don't remember) and the price hasn't come down at all. There really just hasn't been a new card released at that price point yet.
