    Also check the box your GPU came in for an adaptor. They don't all come with them, but I've seen it before.

    If you need to swaparoo things around, and must use the molex connectors, try and use them to power the dvd drives and such, rather than the GPU or the HDD (if possible).

    And just so it's clear for me.....You are trying to power the GPU, but the cables that are "left"( the unused power leads from the PSU) on the PSU, don't match up with what the GPU is looking for. Correct?

    inexplicably the psu that came with the box has only two molex usable and no pci-e connectors at all. He's getting a new psu for it.
