Add one more
Add one more to the list of companies that sell-out their own customers:
BBC News - Lenovo taken to task over 'malicious' adware
Also:
Lenovo shipped lappies with man-in-the-middle ad/mal/bloatware
... and other sites too.

Re: Add one more
Yeah, their attempt to head-fake past the truth of what they do is hilarious.
Someone cracked SuperFish:
Errata Security: Extracting the SuperFish certificate
... and it's just terrible.
I'd almost be happier if it was truly diabolical. If there'd been some verifiably genius shit going on you could at least be impressed in a "Sure, they're evil, but that thing is still pretty clever" sort of way. An evil genius understands the true extent of the chaos she unleashes on the world.
But no. The password recovery was embarrassing.
These people are the equivalent of a burglar who does $15,000 of damage breaking into your house to steal your toaster.

I've got to wonder if anyone has been watching something super serious, say "12 Years a Slave", and right in the middle of an incredibly tense scene, an ad akin to the Budweisser frog commercials pops up.
